A shooting scare at the largest mall in the state late Saturday afternoon.
Authorities responded to Haywood Mall in Greenville Saturday afternoon just after 6pm.
Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said just before 6:30 that “Several people were running out of the mall stating that someone was discharging a firearm.”
The mall was immediately locked down.
Upon investigation, authorities did not find a shooter, but several juveniles were said to be popping balloons inside the mall as well as in the parking garage area.
