A probate judge in Oconee County has been suspended by the State Supreme Court for 18 months. This is the 2nd suspension for judge Kenny Johns. The justices say that Johns, improperly acted as a character witness in out of state legal proceedings. The suspension order also says, John solicited benefits for the Red Cross improperly, doing so on the Facebook Page that identified him as a judge.

This suspension comes after he was suspended for 6 months in 2016. The previous suspension came following controversial social media posts. The posts suggested that the family of Zach Hammond, was only concerned about money following Hammond's death. He was killed by the Seneca Police Dept. during a sting operation. His family received a $2 million dollar settlement. However, none of the officers involved were charged or even terminated.
