A missing persons case has now turned into a murder investigation. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says Devante Alzondrae Griffin was found buried in a wooded area in the Evans Acres Neighborhood of Spartanburg County, earlier this week.
Griffin had been reported missing March 30th and was reportedly last seen with his girlfriend, Jessica Marie Strachan March 29th. Investigators say, during her initial interview Strachan denied knowing where Griffin was. They determined she was interfering with the investigation. Strachan fled the area and went to Miami during the investigation, she was arrested there on a warrant for Obstruction Of Justice on April 1st.

She posted bond on that charge two weeks ago, but violated her home detention and was arrested earlier this week, she currently remains in custody. The investigation revealed a person of interest in the case as 33 year Tarus Dorail Crook of Spartanburg. After the discovery of Griffin's body, a murder investigation was launched. The Sheriff's Office says they have not been able to locate Tarus Crook. Anyone with info on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
