An organization affiliated with Rockstar Cheer has denied involvement in any wrong doing. Varsity Spirit says, all allegations that they helped facilitate sexual abuse at cheer gyms around the Southeast, are completely false.
The company has been named in several civil suits in three different states. The survivors of the alleged abuse are being represented by the Strom Law Firm of Columbia.
The litigation centers around widespread sexual abuse accusations and says, the company failed to provide a safe haven for the underaged athletes at gyms they were affiliated with. The suits claim Varsity Spirit did not enforce procedures to protect the young athletes from abuse and the usage of drugs and alcohol brought on by coaches.
Notable Attorney Thomas Clare is is now representing Varsity Spirit, he says that attorneys from Strom have made blatantly false claims about the company.
Attorneys from Strom, say the sex abuse claims are also still under criminal investigation by federal agencies, but have declined to name which ones.
