An outbreak of chickenpox has been reported at an Upstate school. Officials from Spartanburg School District 5 have confirmed multiple cases of chickenpox at Wellford Academy.
The school nurse confirmed the 1st case last week and confirmed the 4th case, Wednesday. DHEC considers an outbreak to be at least four confirmed cases.
District Officials say that students who have not been vaccinated for chickenpox and those with immune system issues will not be allowed at school.
