The City of Greer has announces a new recreational facility to be built as part of the forGreer initiative.
The new facility off of Highway 14 was announced as part of the city’s forGreer project at a press conference Thursday morning.
Greer Mayor Rick Danner explained that the $60 million complex is vital to the growing Greer community, which he said is lacking in similar spaces.
He continued to explain that the facility will be able to serve as a venue for regional and national events as well to bring economic growth to the region through tourism.
The center will include space for volleyball and basketball courts, community rooms, an e-sports facility, and batting cages. It’s expected to be completed within the next four to five years.
