An Upstate university has announced a ban on the controversial Chinese social media app TikTok.
Clemson University released a campus-wide notice last week stating the college’s plan to ban the app on all campus networks.
The ban went into effect today (Monday), meaning the app cannot be accessed through either wired or Wi-Fi connections that are a part of the campus’s overall network.
In the statement, the university said this decision came to ensure “integrity of information and resources connected to the Clemson network.”
The university added that those connected to private carrier data networks will still be able to access the app.
