A co-defendant for a now disgraced former Upstate lawman is asking for more time ahead of sentencing. Attorneys for Amos Durham, an associate of former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright has asked a federal judge for an extension on his presentencing report.
Durham was charged in October alongside Chuck Wright and Wright's cousin L.B. Watson, all three pleaded guilty back in October. Durham's attorney says they received the pre-sentencing report just a few weeks ago and need time to file any possible grievances with it.
Durham is accused of helping Wright embezzle money from the Sheriff's Office, Court records say Wright then used the money to buy pain pills. A Sentencing date has not yet been set.
