A couple is behind bars after being accused of scamming an elderly woman out of thousands of dollars. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says a 76 year old woman hired a man named Calvin Robert Allen to do tree removal on her property.
After doing the work, Allen allegedly told the woman that her check did not go through. She then wrote Allen a new check.
Allen and his girlfriend Jasmine Crawford then reportedly took the woman's financial info and made a purchase worth 8 grand and paid some other bills.
The lead detective on the case was able to get some of the woman's money back. Allen and Crawford are charged with financial identity fraud.
