Greenidge Generation set to open facility in Spartanburg

A cryptocurrency mining and power generation company will be setting up shop in the Upstate. Greenidge Generation has announced plans to develop a data center in Spartanburg County. The company is set to invest over $260 million dollars, which is expected to create 40 new tech sector jobs. The company's new facility will be on a 175 acre campus on Spartanburg's Jones Road. The 1st phase of the project is set to be online later this year.
