The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call regarding a house fire on Agnew Road in the Parker Community of Greenville County just before 2:45 PM, Tuesday.
Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived and quickly extinguished the blaze. They were told of a possible victim inside and found a woman unresponsive. Efforts to revive her on the scene were unsuccessful.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 75 year old, Carmen Pitts. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
