A Florida man will spend well over a decade behind bars in connection to a deadly hit and run in Western North Carolina.
Court records show 47 year old, Robert Michael Boland was found guilty on charges of fatal hit and run, involuntary manslaughter, obstructing justice and driving with a revoked license.
The charges stem from a crash with a pedestrian in Brevard in October of 2023. The victim, 50 year old Roy Lee Waters, died at a local hospital a few days later.
Boland is set to serve between 16 and 21 years in the North Carolina state prison system.
