After a stalemate in their meeting last Tuesday night, the Greenville County Council has now approved the budget for the new fiscal year. The new budget was approved at a specially called meeting on Friday.
The Council did end up voting to increase the tax millage rate in the county by seven which is considerably lower than where it started, weeks ago. The increase marks the 1st tax hike in the county in nearly 3 decades.
The budget passed by a margin of 8-4 just a week prior to the June 30th deadline.
