Rising inflation and cost hikes in routine household bills have Greenville area residents, feeling the financial squeeze. Research data from Doxo says that on average, Greenville households are spending over $2,000 each month in household bills.
That is 44% of the average household income in Greenville and a year-over-year increase of over 7%. The study says the average mortgage payment in the Greenville area is around $1,140 and the average rent cost is just over a $1,000 dollars .
The data says, Greenville residents also pay over $500 per month on average in car payments and nearly $300 in monthly utility costs. The Greenville area's average household expenses are about 2% less than the national average.
But, is nearly 8% more than the statewide average of just over $1,850 per month. The study says those numbers make Greenville the state's 19th most expensive area to live in.
