Three people have been sentenced in connection to a fatal shooting at an Upstate home in 2022. 28 year old, Matthew Konner Long entered guilty pleas to murder and a weapons violation.
Long's parents who were also sentenced in the case. Court records say Long called his estranged wife Donna and asked her to come to his home. When she arrived Long got a gun and shot his wife multiple times. His parents Carolyn and Donald Long were at the time of the incident.
911 was called and 1st responders reported seeing Donald Long leaving the home with a bag before deputies arrived. It was determined that Carolyn Long gave her husband the gun used in the shooting to dispose of. The weapon was recovered in the Saluda, North Carolina area.
Matthew Long was sentenced to 42 years in prison. His parents who are 73 and 80 years old were charged with accessory and obstruction of justice. They were both given suspended sentences and will serve two years of house arrest.
