A suspect in a deadly mass shooting in the Midlands is now in custody. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says, 24 year old Azavius Jones was taken into custody in Marlboro County, Monday. He was wanted on charges of murder, multiple counts of attempted murder and a weapons violation following the shooting. T
The charges came after a shooting a June 14th at the Jerkhut Bar and Grill in Columbia. The shooting left an Irmo man dead and others injured.
Jones has a documented criminal past. Lott says Jones was already wanted on warrants from the Department Of Corrections and for failure to appear in court last year on weapons charges. The club where the shooting happened has since been shut down.
