Alex Murdaugh admits he lied about how the family's longtime housekeeper died in a fall at the now-notorious hunting estate in Colleton County. It's a criminal confession in response to a civil case.
Murdaugh's reply to the Nautilus Insurance Company lawsuit admits he falsely stated that Gloria Satteffield's fatal fall on a staircase in 2018 was caused by his dogs. Murdaugh says, he did that so her family would have grounds to sue his insurance company.
He also admits that he arranged for another attorney to settle the case, and had his banking buddy to represent her estate to handle the money, which Satterfield's sons never got.
Murdaugh agrees he owes them and that he scammed the insurance company for millions. However, he insists he never conspired with attorney Cory Fleming, who's now under indictment or Chad Westendorf.
Westendorf paid back the thirty thousand he collected for handling the Satterfield estate, and still works at the Palmetto State Bank.
