The Anderson County Sheriff's Office has dropped murder charges against a suspect in a Belton shooting for a man now considered a witness.
Saturday, Deputies responded to a shooting incident in Belton. When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was airlifted to a hospital where he died of his injuries. The victim was identified as 30-year old Kevin B. Pierce of Anderson.
During the homicide investigation into the shooting new evidence has led the Sherriff's Office to drop their arrest warrants for Timothy N. Wells. Investigators now consider Wells a witness to the shooting, but he is yet to be located.
Johnathan P. Hart remains charged with Murder in this case.
