More details have been released after man died following a crash in Clemson The suspect was being chased by police in Central prior to the wreck and subsequent self inflicted shooting.
The Highway Patrol says the driver ran off of the westbound lane of Highway 93 while trying to turn onto US-76 in Clemson. The vehicle ran down an embank and overturned.
The Pickens County Coroner says the driver 32-year-old Jeremy Basquette shot himself in the head following the collision. Basquette was taken to a hospital were he later died of the gunshot wound.
SLED is also investigating the usual procedure in cases of death as a result of law enforcement action.
