An Upstate restaurant has been implicated as a hub for a drug trafficking operation. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson held a press conference Wednesday announcing those allegations against Los Primos restaurant in Greenville.
Wilson has titled the case "Los Banditos", it includes 34 defendants and a total of nearly 125 charges. Wilson says a major concern in the case, is that the restaurant is very close to an elementary school. The investigation claims that the rings has been operating both in South Carolina and Georgia, and has ties to Mexican drug cartels. The AG's office says that over 550 kilos of cocaine, 11 kilos of meth, 20 guns and over $60,000 cash have all been seized in the investigation thus far.
The "Los Banditos" case is a large scale law enforcement operation. It includes the SCAG's Office, SLED, 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins, The Greenville County Drug Unit, Homeland Security, the ATF and various County Sheriff's Offices around the Upstate."
