An Upstate Police officer is nursing minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle while directing traffic. The Williamston Police Department posted on social media saying that a School Resource Officer was struck while directing traffic in front of Palmetto High School, Monday.
The officer suffered minor injuries and has since been treated and released from a local urgent care facility. The driver of the vehicle was ticketed and has since been released from the scene.
The Police Department went on to say "We urge all motorists to slow down, remain alert, and use extra caution when traveling through school zones".
