An Upstate man is facing nearly a dozen child sex crime charges. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says 58 year old, Ronald William Smith of Spartanburg was arrested on 10 counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor, Thursday.
The investigation began after the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office received an online tip report Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Investigators determined Smith had transmitted 700 images of child sexual abuse material between October 2024 and January of this year. Smith is being held at Spartanburg County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
