Spartanburg County Deputies made an arrest after a man was shot at a convenience store on Asheville Highway. Deputies were called just after 3:30PM Tuesday regarding that shooting. The victim was taken to a hospital and is said to recuperating after surgery.
A witness gave deputies a tag number and vehicle description and the suspect was spotted at another convenience store on Highway 292 and I-26. That's where 30 year old Brayan Alexander Borjas-Martinez of Spartanburg was arrested without incident.
When questioned by investigators he confessed to the shooting and was transported to the detention facility.
Borjas-Martinez is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. No motive for the shooting has been determined.
