Released by The Phoenix Center.
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Phoenix Center and the ECHO Rx Greenville Coalition in partnership with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office have secured a 42 foot enclosed mobile trailer for the purpose of substance use education in Greenville County.
This state of the art trailer is equipped with interactive technology and displays that increase awareness of the dangers of opioids and other drugs. Some of the interactive components include educational games, impairment goggles, and a roadster cart that can be used to simulate the effects of different substances. In addition, video testimonies of individuals and families that have been affected by substance use are played throughout the interactive experience. A section of the trailer can also be used by substance use treatment counselors to provide assessments and brief interventions for those seeking help. Community trainings regarding the use and distribution of the overdose reversal drug Narcan® can also be hosted onsite through use of the mobile education trailer.
The Phoenix Center strives to educate the community on the harmful effects of opioids and other drugs through our Empowering Communities for Healthy Outcomes Coalition (ECHO) Rx Greenville Coalition. This trailer gives us the opportunity to go into communities and provide an interactive educational experience.
