A suspect is in custody after a bomb threat shut down I85 near White Horse Road in Greenville and caused major traffic backups around the city.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says SWAT and bomb squad personnel responded to assist Transport Police who pulled over an 18 wheeler around 330 PM, Thursday.
Fox Carolina News reported initially reported the incident as a Hazmat spill, they later claimed that was due to an automated system error on the SCDOT website.
The identity of the suspect has not been released, nor has further details on whether a bomb was found.
The suspect has not been identified as of the time of this report. I85 was reopened after the incident had it shut down for more than 3 hours.
