The planned Paris Mountain Hotel has been a hot button issue. Critics of the development echo the sentiments of singer Joni Mitchell as they don't want to "pave paradise to put up a parking lot". Those in favor of the move like the revenue that the hotel would bring to the area.
Travelers Rest City Councilwoman Lisa Lane joined the Charlie James Show, Monday afternoon. She was asked how she would vote on the planned development, if it comes to the City Council.
Lane didn't offer a clear cut yes or no. She said " I am doing my research right now. It has not come to me so right now I am doing due diligence."
Charlie then asked about what type of feedback Lane has been hearing. She said "Of course people comment negatively louder than positively. I am getting both positive and negative. I am trying to vet everything and not do it based off of Facebook rhetoric".
The Travelers Rest Planning Commission is expected to discuss the planned Hotel development, later this month. It would have to pass through the planning commission before going to City Council.
