Two suspects are facing charges after a gruesome weekend discovery in the Upstate. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting in the Saxon Community, around 8:45 PM Friday. Upon arrival, deputies found evidence of a shooting, but did not find the victim.
While on scene there, another 911 call came in reporting a vehicle on fire on the railroad tracks near Sidney Street. Firefighters arrived there and found a man's body in the burning vehicle. The deceased has been identified as 33 year old, Harold Dean Sinclair III of Union. The two incidents were determined to be linked and two suspects were taken into custody.
22 year old, Jaylen Sinclair is charged with murder and a weapons violation. The Sheriff's Office has not released any details on whether the two men are related. Another suspect 19 year old, Destiney Vanderford was also arrested for accessory after the fact.
Investigators say Sinclair shot the victim multiple times, put the body in the victim's vehicle and drove it to the tracks and sat it on fire. The Sheriff's Office says Vanderford was aware of what happened and went to pick the alleged shooter up from the tracks.
