Two people are injured and a third is in custody after a weekend shooting Western North Carolina. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at a home in Forest City, Saturday morning. Upon arrival, deputies found two victims suffering from gun shot wounds. The two were taken to a hospital to be treated.
The Sheriff's Office says the suspect Robert Dale Wood III, had already fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. He was located in neighboring Cleveland County and was taken into custody. Wood is charged with assault with intent to kill and trespassing.
He's currently being held without bond in Rutherford County. At this time, the Sheriff's Office has not released any details on what led to the shooting.
