A U.S. Marine is dead following a stabbing in a coastal North Carolina town. The Wilmington Police Department says the stabbing happened after multiple fights were reported in the same area.
Upon arrival officers found a man suffering from stab wounds, he died at the scene. The victim has been identified as 21 year old, Daniel Montano. Police say the suspect 47 year old Davy Spencer has been taken into custody. He's charged with 2nd degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon and is being held without bond
. Montano was a Lance Corporal who was assigned to the 1st Battalion at Camp Lejeune. Police in Wilmington have not released No further details on what led to the stabbing.
