An Upstate man is facing charges after allegedly shooting his own father. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at a home on Everest Drive in Inman, just after 3 PM Monday. Deputies arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses identified the shooter to deputies as Donovan Sloan Blackwood. He had fled the scene but later returned and was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder and a weapons violation.
The victim was identified as his father. He was taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital and is said to be in stable condition. No further details have been released, as of the time of this report.
