The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office in a media release Monday morning announced the passing of Major Mike East. He served 46 years in the Sheriff's Office.
East joined the Sheriff’s Office as a young man and it was the only job he ever held in his adult life. Sheriff Hobart Lewis said "Major East was a man who didn’t just wear the badge—he lived the calling...”
