A teenager is facing charges after a crash in the Upstate earlier this month left another teenager dead. As we previously reported, the Spartanburg Police Department responded to a crash on Farley Avenue on December 7th.

A passenger in the vehicle was injured and was taken to Spartanburg Regional where he died a few days later. The Coroners Office has identified the victim as 19 year old, Ricky Kelly Jr.

Now police say, the 16 year old driver responsible for the crash is charged with vehicular homicide. Police say the driver was excessively speeding when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.

The 16 year old's identity is being withheld due to his age. He's being held at the DJJ facility in Columbia.
