An arrest has been made after an infant was found dead at a home in the Upstate last Friday.
The Pickens County Coroner's Office responded to a home on Nations Way in Easley shortly after 8pm and found the child deceased after suffering severe injuries.
Easley Police Chief Brandon Liner announced Tuesday the infant's mother, An Ngo, was arrested on charges of homicide by child abuse. She is currently still in the hospital and awaiting a bond hearing.
Arrest warrants state Ngo is accused of stabbing her newborn multiple times with a metal letter opener during and after the birth of the baby boy.
Investigators are still actively looking into the incident.
