A dangerous criminal wanted for a laundry list of charges has been identified after he was arrested following a swat team standoff in Spartanburg County, Tuesday.
Sheriff Chuck Wright announced the arrest of 38 year old Justin Morgan Phillips during a press conference Wednesday morning. Phillips was taken into custody at a home on Lyndhurst Street just before 6PM Tuesday night after barricading himself inside.
He was was wanted for armed robbery after he and two others suspects allegedly robbed the Academy Sports store at Peachwood Center in Spartanburg, November 18th. Phillips also was charged with auto theft and failure to stop November 19th, Phillips also faces kidnapping and multiple weapons charges stemming from an incident in Roebuck on Monday.
The Sheriff's Office says Phillips has a long criminal history and had over 20 active warrants at the time of his arrest. A booking photo of the suspect can be seen on our website.
