A jail officer in Western North Carolina has been fired after being arrested, Thursday evening. Officials in Buncombe County say 31 year old, Cameron Blaine Taylor was arrested on a charge of willful failure to discharge duties.
"Willful failure to discharge duties" is typically applied to public officials, law enforcement officers, or state employees who intentionally ignore, neglect, or refuse to perform their legally required job responsibilities.
The sheriff’s office said Taylor was fired from his position Thursday afternoon. Taylor had been working as a detention officer there for less than a year. No details on what led to the charge have been released, as of this time.
