A suspect is facing charges after a shooting in Western North Carolina left a woman dead and a teenager injured. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting on Silvers Lake Road, Wednesday.
Upon arrival, a woman identified as 27 year old, Kirsten Teaster was found dead at the scene. A 17 year old victim was also found suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was taken to a hospital to be treated, there's been no update on their condition.
Investigators say the shooter was identified as Robert Lee Scruggs III. He was taken into custody and is charged with voluntary manslaughter.
