A Western North Carolina man is facing charges after a domestic violence episode led to a scuffle with a deputy, earlier this month. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence call at a home in Old Fort, March 4th.
Investigators say the suspect 49 year old, Christopher Robert Mckinney had punched the victim in the face. Mckinney then reportedly assaulted a Lieutenant with the Sheriff's Office. She was injured and was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Mckinney is charged with assault on an officer, resisting an officer and assault on a woman. He has been initially denied bond and is being held in McDowell County.
