One half of the Alt-Hip Hop duo Insane Clown Posse, rapper Violent J (Joseph Bruce), revealed some very personal news to fans during the latest Gathering of the Juggalos symposium in Ohio from August 19 through 21.

While on stage with his partner Shaggy 2Dope, J explained his absence at a previously scheduled performance, telling of a recent hospital visit where he found out that he is suffering from heart failure.

"I noticed walking out to the studio every day, by the time I got to the f***ing studio, I was like, winded," J said, first detailing the feelings of lethargy and unease he had begun to experience at home. "We went to the hospital to see what’s going on," he continued, saying the decision did not come easily in light of COVID. "They did what they call an ultrasound. The lady who was looking at my heart, we could tell she was tripping about something, but she wasn’t a doctor. She told me, ‘They want you to go straight home, get in bed and they’ll call you first thing in the morning.' I kinda had a feeling they were gonna tell me to go the hospital when they called. They called before the birds even woke up and f***ing told me to go to the hospital. They took me in the back and s***, and basically, they just came out and told me, man, I had heart failure. That scared the s*** out of me."

"I have what they call A-fib [atrial fibrillation]. There’s two types of A-fib, where I understand it," he explained. "A minor one, and a more serious one, and they told me I got the more serious one."

Unfortunately for fans and Faygo, "We can’t really tour anymore the way we were touring," he told the crowd. The good news here is, he does foresee a farewell bash, continued fan gatherings, and possible annual outings. "We’re gonna do one more tour next year around the world,” J announced. "It’s gonna be a slow tour. It’s only gonna be like three or four shows a week," he said, while assuring fans, "we’re gonna play every Juggalo weekend, every Hallowicked, every f***ing {Christmas] Ballers, every event. We’re gonna do a show somewhere every month. One show a month is our plan."

"I want to make it clear," J continued with the positive vibes. "Making music is not affected in any way, shape, or form by anything going on with Shaggy or myself health-wise. We’re ready to f***ing kick a** in the studio, and that’s a fact."

ICP dropped their latest EP, Yum Yum's Lure, in February 2021.
