The Padres came from behind to beat the Braves 7-6 in 10 innings and clinch a series win in a game where they fell behind big early. After Wandy Peralta pitched a scoreless first inning, Griffin Canning allowed 4 earned runs and wasn't able to complete a full inning, being pulled in favor of Kyle Hart in the 2nd inning after throwing 40 pitches to record two outs. The Padres responded immediately however, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take a 5-4 lead. Rodolfo Duran, Sung-Mun Song, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Samad Taylor each drove in runs during the team's 2nd inning rally. After falling behind 6-5, Fernando Tatis Jr. blasted a game-tying solo home run to dead center field in the 7th inning, his third of the year. Adrian Morejon pitched a scoreless 8th inning, and after pitching a scoreless 9th, Mason Miller came back out to pitch the 10th inning as well, holding the Braves scoreless and giving the Padres a chance to win the game by driving in the Manfred Man. Manny Machado did just that, scorching a single back up the middle to bring in Jackson Merrill and secure the series win. The Padres will have a chance to sweep the Braves with a win on Wednesday.
