Teachers at one elementary school are putting some surprising items in their vending machines specifically to feed students’ minds- books.

The Florida educators swapped out the snacks and sweets for reading materials. Students can buy them with tokens earned for doing good deeds or working hard in class.

All the books come from different publishers, and the machine already needs to be restocked.

A local church also donated a second machine to Umatilla Elementary. Staff is hoping to dedicate one for kindergarten to second grade reading level books and the other for third to fifth graders.
