NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police investigating a chain of burglaries in Brooklyn found a slew of stolen items and answered the age-old question: Where are you, Scooby?
Cops were going through surveillance video from one of four locations hit in Gravesend when they recognized a guy they’d arrested before.
The officers went to the suspect’s home on West 13th Street and were greeted at the door by Scooby, a very friendly Golden Retriever who was reported stolen from one of the locations.
During the course of the investigation, police say officers noticed several more items that were reported stolen in plain view at the home.
When officers started to look around the apartment some more with a search warrant, police say the officers uncovered a whole bunch of stolen and illegal items.
They allegedly found narcotics, a collection of weapons, including a sword and a machete, as well as electronic equipment, stolen jewelry, credit cards, passports and even a police scanner tuned to the local precinct.
Cory Gaudio, 23, was taken into custody and is now facing a long list of charges, including burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of radio devices.
The grandson of the 89-year-old woman, who owns the building where the suspect lives, told 1010 WINS Guadio stole from his grandmother too.
"She's missing a wedding band, an old watch, which was my grandfather's, and a lot of cash," he said.
Scooby is now back at home with his human after being reunited at the scene.
