The UK’s Chester Zoo has welcomed a 6-foot baby boy.
A beautiful giraffe birth was caught on the zoo’s CCTV and is a welcomed sight.
He is the newest addition to the Rothschild species, which is unfortunately endangered.
The unnamed calf was born to mother Dagmar and father Meru.
According to zoo staff, the doting mother is staying close to her baby’s side allowing him to nurse on nutrient-rich milk.
The birth is very important as estimates suggest that less than 2,650 Rothschild’s giraffes remain in the wild.
