You Can Buy Alcoholic Popsicles at Costco in Time for Summer

It’s only May, but summer is right around the corner. And there may be no better adult summer treat than a boozy popsicle. And we’re not talking about those Margarita “flavored” things. We mean frozen pops that have actual ABV. And if you’re going to buy them, you may as well buy them in bulk. Some Costcos around the country are more than happy to oblige.

Instagram Costco enthusiast @thecostcoconoisseur found boxes and boxes of Claffey’s Frozen Cocktails on shelves at the big box store. They come in packs of 12 and in six different flavors: Cherry Lips, Punk Lemonade, Ice Blue (that’s blue raspberry), Modern Mango, Grab Apple and Purple Party (grape, of course). According to the ingredient label on the back, the alcohol in all of them is “premium wine,” so you can probably think of these as wine cooler slushies.

They come in a six percent ABV, so about half of an actual glass of wine and about as much as an IPA. Also noteworthy for the calorie-conscious drinkers among you, each pop only has 90 calories. So it can balance out that six pound tub of Nutella that’s also in your cart.

They were spotted at a Washington D.C. Costco, although they aren’t listed on the national website for the brand (perhaps that’s unsurprising since none of the alcohol available at Costco is listed online). So check the extra-wide aisles at your local Costco to see if they’re available. If not, you can always order straight from the source. Claffey’s works with Emilio’s Beverage Warehouse to ship its frozen cocktails nation-wide.
