Rumors of Lady Gaga's potential pregnancy started swirling over the weekend, due to some bored Internet scrollers thinking they saw evidence of a baby bump in photos of Gaga attending her sister’s wedding.
“Not pregnant–just down bad cryin at the gym,” Gaga wrote across a video to address the speculation, referencing Swift’s “Down Bad” lyrics from her latest release The Tortured Poets Department (The full lyric of which is — “Now I’m down bad crying at the gym/ Everything comes out teenage petulance").
Taylor Swift even took time to comment on Gaga's post, saying "Can we all agree that it's invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman's body. Gaga doesn't owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman."
Gaga also took the opportunity to urge her Little Monsters to “Register to vote at www.headcount.org,” which she reiterated in her caption, encouraging fans to “register to vote or check if you’re registered” ahead of this year’s election, with the same link to HeadCount.
To make sure both of her messages reached the masses, Gaga sprinkled in some trending audio: “I don’t have to find an aesthetic. I am an aesthetic.” The audio, originally posted by TikTok user notpennyproud back in 2021, played as Gaga mouthed along while showing off her bold eyeliner look. “I mean I’m sure there’s somebody out here right now who’s going into Pinterest trying to type up all these adjectives to describe me.”
