While this isn’t the species you’d expect to be holding this newborn orangutan, she loves her all the same!
A baby orangutan was just born at the Greenville Zoo in South Carolina, but mom can’t hold her just yet.
Mother Lana had to have a C-section, so while she’s recovering from surgery, the staff are dressing up like an orangutan to take care of the newborn.
While it may seem unconventional, it’s a great way to make sure the newborn assimilates with its mom.
Thankfully, mom will be all better soon and carrying her baby just like this in no time!
