Speaking with ITV News after kicking off Queens Of The Stone Age’s UK and Ireland leg of their The End Is Nero tour on Tuesday, Josh, aside from talking about his own physical health, also opened up about the "heartache" he’s recently experienced after the devastating loss of nine people he knew in the past year-and-a-half. This, of course, includes his former bandmate Mark Lanegan, and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“I had a little heartache, and I had a little of this and a little of that,” Homme says, “but also, I’ve never learned so much so quickly. So, I’m sort of thankful for it all at the end, because I feel closer to the things that I truly love.”

Over the summer Josh admitted that the loss of close friends amid legal battles with his ex-wife, a cancer diagnosis was "just the cherry on top of an interesting time period," adding he was "extremely thankful" he would survive the ordeal. "I'll look back at this as something that’s f***ed up," he said, "but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There's a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with."

Providing a short but very sweet update on his cancer treatments, Homme said simply, "I’m good. I’m all clear."

"It's the kids that have made me feel better, whether they're out in the crowd or in my own home," Josh says of the support he's felt through all of the turmoil. "I feel the best I've felt all year... It's OK to be broad and say, 'dark times come,' but more than ever I'm just still trying to look for the light."
