Police in Okinawa Japan are having some issues with people getting drunk and sleeping on roadways.

By "some issues" I mean over 7,000 cases have been reported. Some have resulted in death.

The Japanese called this weird phenomenon "rojo-ne", which translates to English as "sleeping on the road."

Police are puzzled as to the reasoning for this. Some say it could be the nice warm weather, others say that it may be the residents easy going manner. I'm thinking it might be because they are drunk.

"I didn't even know the term 'rojo-ne' before coming to Okinawa. I think it's a phenomenon unique to Okinawa," said Tadataka Miyazawa, Okinawa's police chief.

Some individuals are using the curb as a pillow because its temperature is cool, and in other cases women have even taken off their clothes thinking that they have arrived home.

I know, this is a very weird story.
