From The NFL To Restaurants: 2020 Will Be Full Of Fake People

You deal with fake people every single day. But in a post-COVID lockdown world, you might have to deal with some actually fake people - whether they be virtual or plastic.

I've spent most of my life going to concerts, restaurants, and movies by lonesome, and it's pretty awesome if we're being honest. But many people aren't used to that kind of isolation, so management has decided to find ways to make it a little more comfortable. It's no secret that with social distancing rules and reduced capacities, we're going to have a lot more empty space.

A few of the Michelin-star, highest-rated restaurants in the country plan to fill empty tables with "well-dressed manneqiuns" to both promote social distancing, and make it feel like a full dining room. And you'll know your date is going poorly if it looks like they're having a better time than you are. One restaurant in Thailand is even using stuffed animals, and I'd take that over mannequins.

And then there's sports. If you've been watching the Korean baseball league just to get your fix, you've probaby seen the cheerleaders trying to hype up some empty seats. But the NFL/FOX has the money and technology to do a little bit better, and it's being reported that they full expect to use virtual fans and fake crowd noise, if stadiums aren't ready to open for the public. So for once, (insert team you hate) will finally have some fans in the seats, ha ha ha!
