I am not a well-functioning adult. I can barely take care of myself and I know that taking care of a dog requires a lot of work. Having to wake up/get home at specific times every day to walk the dog? I can't keep that kind of schedule. I love dogs, but that's why I've decided to be a cat-man. I make sure there's food in her bowl, water in her cup, and she'll let me know when it's time to pet her... easy-peasy.

A proposed law in Germany is set to make sure that dogs get their proper attention and exercise. It would require dogs to be walked twice each day for at least one hour per walk. The Agriculture Minister notes, "Pets are not cuddly toys, their needs have to be taken into account."

The law wouldn't stop there. It would also have some strict rules to crack down on breeders and "puppy farms", by limiting the amount of litters a breeder could have at one time, and being required to spend four hours socializing the puppies each day.

As for goin' on walkies, the law would demand:Owners will have to take their dogs for walks twice a day for a minimum of one hour in total. They will not be allowed to keep their dogs chained for long periods of time. They will not be allowed to leave dogs alone the whole day.
