Who needs school when you've got YouTube? It's pretty much how I learn to do everything.
A new survey found 87% of adults now use online tutorials to learn stuff and the pandemic has had an effect on the types of videos we're searching for.
Here are the Top 10 "how to" video searches so far this year with my thoughts on each
1. How to use a new software - like Zoom (been there).
2. How to get stains out of clothing (needed after wearing the same thing for 3 days).
3. Tips and tricks for video games (aka working from home).
4. Make-up tutorials (HA! My cats don't care if I'm wearing makeup).
5. How to make a face mask (cause we're all sick of buying them).
6. How to bake cookies (I searched it and then bought the pre-made stuff).
7. How to get past a specific part of a video game (more working from home).
8. How to curl your hair (or your dog's).
9. How to poach an egg (getting fancy with breakfast).
10. How to fix a washing machine (is anyone actually attempting to do this themselves?!? that's nuts)
Two more COVID-centric searches just missed the Top 10:
How to lose weight fast is #11 (the answer is 2020 ending).
And how to cut a man's hair is 12th (just shave it off).
